2018 NWA North Carolina Wilderness Adventure

This is a three day backpacking trip, so backpacking equipment is required. The trek has moderate challenges! It is adventurous and designed for the masculine heart, whether young or old. First trip or one of many, you will enjoy the adventure, camaraderie, conversations and story! The theme of this years trip will be "Living Well" based on John 10:10

Friday we will hike into our base camp where we will set up camp from there we will venture out each day to discover new lakes, trails, mountains and more. There will be ample opportunity to fish, hike, and explore. Bob Ivans a fly-fishing and Tenkara guide will be showing us how to catch those NC mountain trout so you will need a NC fishing license and trout stamp.

Each day we will have conversations and fire time around our theme.

This is a opportunity that you (and your son) may want to be a part of. You will build memories but better yet we will all grow as men.

So join us for the 2018 NWA Wilderness Adventure in the Wilson Creek Wilderness Area Wilderness near the Linville Gorge in NC.

Who: men 12 or older, hiking is moderate

Location: Wilson Creek Wilderness Area, Mortimer, NC

Cost: $65 per person or $120 for Father and Son pairs. $60 for each additional son! You will need to provide your own gear.

2018 Colorado Hunting Camp

Join New Wilderness Adventures for our 5th annual Hunting Camp! October 19-25th. We will hunt for big game (Elk and Mule Deer) in the rugged Northern Central Colorado Rockies, Routt National Forrest. ( Hunt Zone 15)

This adventure is not just about the hunt, it is about connecting deeper with our Heavenly Father and other men as we adventure together and enjoy creation and friends! Our theme this year is "Men of the Kingdom". Each day we will explore topics that will encourage and strengthen your masculine heart! There is ample time to hunt and you will eat well! You will leave with deeper connections, perhaps some meat and a trophy.


Our base camp will be the rustic Mount Elim Bible Camp which borders the National Forest. (great hunting right out of the camp!) Private land adjacent the camp gives NWA hunters exclusive forrest access! This is high adventure with moderate risk! No experience is necessary (first time hunters welcome) but a license (hunter safety card too) is required to hunt. There are ample mule deer and elusive elk! (weather plays a huge factor with the elk)


  • October 19th-25th (Arrive Friday afternoon, depart Thursday morning)
  • Cost $405, includes lodging, food, and conference materials
  • You are invited to stay additional days at $65/day, thru Oct 28th (season ends at sundown on Sunday)
  • 5 full days of hunting!
  • Men/Sons 14 and up
  • Mount Elim Bible Camp (between Kremmling and Toponas Colorado in the Gore Range)

Youth (age 12-17) can hunt for a ridiculously reduced (1/4 - 1/6) license cost! Youth must have a mentor 18 or older, both need a hunter safety certificate. Mentor does not need to hunt!

Your gear, rifle, hunting licenses, snacks, processing, shipping, travel, etc...

HUNTERS EDUCATION (safety) CARD is required to hunt. Unless you were born prior to 1949. There is an apprentice license for first time hunters, if you can not complete you hunter safety prior to your draw application.


Initial draw is closed Bull Elk hunting licenses are available over the counter (no draw), other licenses (DRAW TAGS), including Mule Deer (Buck or Doe) and Cow Elk can be obtained online Colorado Parks and Wildlife . Left over tags(cow elk & mule deer) will become available August 7th @ midnight over the phone (800-244-5613) and August 8th @ midnight, on the web, first come first serve till they are gone. (see below for webpage).

We strongly suggest getting Mule Deer Tags. You will have an opportunity to kill a deer for sure. We strongly suggest you get these, Really.. Get them! There are trophy Mule Bucks in the area.

Father/Daughter Weekend

Come join Mark Folk and his daughter Madison as they host this Father daughter weekend at South Mountain Christian Camp in Bostic, NC.

This fall, in the beauty of the NC Mountains and crispness of the Fall Colors, take some much need time out of your busy schedule to rekindle that special relationship with your daughter(s.)

NWA founder Mark Folk and his daughter Madison did the very first Father/Daughter retreat more that 17 years ago. Madison now 24 joins her dad to share their unique Father Daughter story and lessons learned from battling life threatening disease together. Their testimony will inspire, challenge dads and daughters.

Mark will sharing what it really means to fight for your daughters heart, faith and purity.
He will be uncovering a dangerous and unbiblical parenting philosophy that that christians and the church have adopted in raising daughters. Mark will also be teaching dads the vital role of being their daughters spiritual leader until they marry.

Fathers and Daughters ages 7 and up come make lifelong memories sharing adventures like campfire time, canoeing, orienteering, waterfall hiking and urban survival skills.
